  • NH Art Educator's Association, Youth Arts Exhibit and NH High School Short Film Festival screening at the NH State Library, March 1-31; public reception March 31, 1-3 p.m.
  • Youth Arts Month Exhibit, State House walkway and Legislative Office Building, March 11-31
  • NH Music Educators’ Large Group Festival at Goffstown High School (middle school performers) March 9 and at Bow High School (high school performers)
  • NH Educational Theatre Guild’s Regional Festival of one-act plays performed by high school students at Pinkerton Academy (Derry) and Windham High School, March 9, and at Salem and Kearsarge Regional (Sutton) High Schools, March 23
  •  2019 Poetry Out Loud State Championship at the N.H. State House, March 15, 5 p.m.
  • Gov. Sununu has proclaimed March both “Music in Our Schools” and “Youth Arts Month.”
  • Executive Councilors will join the Governor in presenting Commendations for “Excellence in Arts Education” to members of their districts.
  • Governor Sununu has proposed an increase to the NH State Council on the Arts grants budget for FY20.

National Association for Music Education:
Music In Our Schools Month or “MIOSM” is NAfME’s annual celebration during March which engages music educators, students, and communities from around the country in promoting the benefits of high quality music education programs in schools. NAfME provides many special resources for teachers and schools to use in their concerts, lessons, and advocacy events that highlight the importance of school music.

 

National Art Education Association
Youth Art Month emphasizes the value of art education for all children, encourages support for quality school art programs, and promotes art material safety.

 

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA)

In partnership with the American Alliance for Theatre & Education (AATE) sponsors Theatre in Our Schools, a campaign designed to raise public awareness of the impact of theatre education and draw attention to the need for more access to quality programs for all students.

 

National Dance Education Organization (NDEO)
Advocate in your school and your community. Celebrate the achievements of your students and the impact dance has on their education. The NDEO has shared some suggestions on celebrating dance education during March.
